Positive Benefits Of A White Smile

Posted on

Self confidence is often talked about but not easily achieved.  No one is immune from the lack of confidence that results in low self-esteem.  Males and females young and old can struggle with this negative thought process.  Men and women spend a lot of time in the gym, working out to build muscles or tone their bodies.  Hundreds of dollars are spent in salons and on products that have the ability to make people feel attractive and adequate to themselves, although most of the world views them that way already.

Having a bright and attractive smile can help you feel better about yourself and boost your confidence and self-esteem. Aside from having more self confidence, a white and bright smile can have many other benefits.

1. White teeth give the appearance of youth. When your teeth are white and your smile is bright, you take a few years off your age.  White teeth are often associated with youth.

2.  White teeth give the appearance of good health. If your teeth are white, it appears that you not only are concerned for your oral health, but you are concerned about your health in general.

3. You will talk more and not hide your smile. If you are afraid your smile is not appealing to others you might not show your teeth as much.  You may mumble or hide your mouth behind your hands.  If you feel good and confident about the way your teeth look you will be more likely to show your smile and will appeal more to other people.

4. You may be more motivated to take chances. A white smile will give you more confidence.  This in turn can motivate you to really get out there and take chances you may not have taken before.  You might try for a promotion at your job or ask someone out.  Your personal and professional relationships can benefit from your white smile.

5.  You will give a more positive first impression.  Your dazzling white smile will give great first impressions. This can also be helpful for budding relationships.

6. You may be more motivated to take care of your oral health. White teeth don't necessarily indicate good oral health.  People can have white teeth that aren't healthy. Once your teeth are dazzling white, though, you may want to take care of them a little better than before.  This will improve your oral health and could also help your overall health.
